Family Summer Holiday Destinations 2016

Explore Australia’s Backyard on your Summer Holiday

Something different for the family…

Those warm and breezy days tell us summer is fast approaching. So, you may be wondering where to venture off to for your family summer holiday.

You have young kiddos and sometimes it can be difficult meeting everyone’s vacation expectations. It can be quite a hassle finding kid friendly places, especially when it involves keeping little people safe when they still haven’t fully developed motor skills.

Well we have done the research for you and found some fantastic holiday spots that are guaranteed to fascinate mum, dad and the kids.

At Kakadu National Park, you and your family can watch in awe as the beautiful array of birds fly along the South Alligator region’s billabong trails, particularly the Gungarre Walk.

The Mamukala wetlands are another sight to behold, typically through the month of December.

Be sure to stop by the Bowali Visitor Centre located close to the main town Jabiru. This is open all year round offering you and your little ones eye-catching displays of giant crocodile skeletons.

Warradjan Cultural Centre is another educational location where you will learn the amazing Aboriginal traditions of the Kakadu National Park land owners, Bininj. Beautiful local artwork is available there to view and purchase.

Being a tourist can really kick start an appetite. Take the whole family to Jabiru Sports and Social Club where there is a fun playground for the kids, or venture off to the Aurora Kakadu Lodge where the little ones can enjoy a nice dip in the pool.

Time to Explore Tasmania
